Scottish Antiques-Collectables. Glass.

Beer

These are rare and collectable Scottish beer glasses or goblets. They are a more squat shape – and being of a larger bowl size, they are ideal servings of white or red wine.  They were originally designed as Beer Glasses and marketed as such by Caithness.

They are from the Canisbay series, designed by Colin Terris for Caithness Glass.

These beer glasses with their larger bowl and shorter stem are very difficult to find. They measure 4 3/4 inches in height – with a diameter of 3 1/2 inches. The diameter of the foot is 2 1/4 inches.  The colour is called “Peat” at Caithness. This size and shape is not so common.  The rarity of this Canisbay shape is reflected my asking price for each glass.

They are very space-age in feel and sit nicely in the hand.

Facebook welcome.
