**The Price of War**
The drums of war beat loud and cold,
A tale as ancient, harsh, and bold.
Steel meets steel with bitter cries,
While smoke and sorrow stain the skies.
The fields once green now lie in ash,
Where dreams and destinies both crash.
The songs of youth are drowned by fear,
And time forgets the fallen here.
Mothers weep and children roam,
As silence haunts a shattered home.
Victory rings, but at what cost?
When so much love and life are lost.
Yet still it comes, again, once more—
The endless march, the thirst for war.
May hearts one day choose peace instead,
And learn from all the tears we've shed.
