As the world revolves today,
So much has happened this year:
People lost or murdered,
Or simply living in fear.
Earthquakes roar and grumble,
While famine is still rife;
For man, woman, and child,
Hardship comes to life.
But do not forget others,
Who suffer each new day;
Don't let them be forgotten
While they have no say.
Some say God moves in mysterious ways,
Still, He wants to be heard;
They claim this is His calling—
A gathering of His herd.
The planet can only take so much
Of man-made destruction;
So let us try our very best
To aid in its construction.
The oceans roar, the winds batter,
Nothing can withstand the blast;
Just as in many years before,
We answer to our past.
People in this world each day
Suffer a striking blow;
They lose family members daily,
Scared more will go.
Nuclear stations blowing up,
Radiation fills the air;
For people who never wanted this,
It is a profound unfair.
Why not use our resources—
Free, not harmful at all?
Use wind and solar power,
Lest every nation fall.
War, uprisings, and restlessness—
The whole world going mad;
Trying to oust despots,
When democracy is needed bad.
Let's treat our Earth like treasure,
Learn from all this foe,
Or else we will have nothing,
Nowhere left to go.
Our kids need a stable future,
Generations may be lost;
Sit back, and truly think:
Add up the cost.
