The Aberdeen tartan is a district tartan celebrating the city of Aberdeen. The taran was designed in 1782 which was during the last year of the Dress Act of 1742 that banned the wearing of tartan and kilts. It was designed by Wilsons of Bannockburn and is the oldest tartan designed by the Wilsons.

The Aberdeen tartan consists mainly of red, pink, white and blue. If you are looking for a bright kilt to stand out from the crowd in, the Aberdeen tartan is an excellent choice. District tartans aren’t connected to any Clan and therefore, anyone can wear this tartan without any restrictions.
