My Poetry. Sun shine days.

After a long and bitter winter,
it’s a joy to see the sun in its glory.
Its warmth lifts the spirit,
its light makes us feel free.

The air grows gentle,
plants start to bloom,
gardens awaken—
we all dash outside in a swoon.

Barbecues sizzle,
their aroma divine,
mouths watering quickly,
we’re ready to dine.

T-shirts and shorts,
the odd sandal in sight,
socks with them too—
a fashion delight.

Half-clad crowds
lie under the sun,
laughing and shouting,
all having fun.

Children in sun hats,
safe from the rays,
splashing in paddling pools
through hot summer days.

Dogs puff and pant,
the heat is their test,
they leap into lakes,
doing their best.

Three days of sunshine,
not a cloud in the sky—
a glorious summer
as bright as July.

Who needs to go abroad
with weather like this?
Save all your pennies
and savour the bliss.

The question we wonder,
though no one can say:
will this joy linger,
or vanish away?

For now, let’s be grateful,
for all that we’ve got—
a sun-filled adventure,
a season so hot.
