My Poetry. The Heart and Soul of Me.

I see your presence vivid in my dreams,
and you arrive to instantly liven up my day.
You are the very heart and the soul of my being—
What more true thing is there for me to say?

Your smile is radiant, a brilliant sunbeam,
but much more vital than the sun itself.
Your worth to me is absolutely priceless now,
far greater than fame or any worldly wealth.

I would be lonely and utterly empty without you;
my existence would feel somber, sad, and dull,
like all the beautiful trees stripped of their leaves,
or a body left vacant without its beating skull.

The busy bees would lose their happy hum,
the birds would be unable to lift their voice and sing;
the flowers would instantly lose all their sweet scent,
and the joyous, ancient church bells wouldn't ring.

You are the North Star guiding me in the dark sky,
the one true apple of my devoted eye.
And together, my love, we will promise never to say,
"Goodbye, my darling love, goodbye."
