Our previous dog, Tucker, not only emptied the trash, he figured out how to open the cabinet to do it. After that we put a child safety lock on the cabinet; before long we heard him in the kitchen scrabbling away at it, and then he started barking at it in frustration when it wouldn’t open for him anymore. Tucker went to the Rainbow Bridge over ten years ago now, but that cabinet door still has those scratch marks in it from his claws …
