Australia, we share the deep pain
of your overwhelming, horrible plight.
The sadness and unbearable grief
remain constantly within our sight.
The tragic loss of so many lives
is hurting hearts across the globe;
the sheer scale of this devastation is gross,
a wound too deep to simply probe.
We mourn the animals being consumed by the flames,
with nowhere left for them to run,
as the raging inferno continues to spread,
unyielding beneath the hot, relentless sun.
Homes and cherished histories are extinguished,
reduced to ashes in a matter of days,
as the uncontrolled fires burn fiercely out of hand,
fueled by the sun's scorching, merciless rays.
We pray that the heavens send down the much-needed rain,
to smother these devastating, stubborn fires,
to lighten the heavy, impossible load
as the necessary, grueling cleanup transpires.
We send immense strength to the brave people
who work tirelessly, day after day,
evacuating citizens from the danger,
amidst the chaos and burning foray.
We stand unequivocally with you,
in this difficult, terrifying time of fear,
stepping up all global aid and support,
shedding a communal, empathetic tear.
As your great Country begins to evaluate
the terrible, lasting damage done,
we pray you find swift relief and comfort
from the fierce heat of the glaring sun.

It’s tragic indeed how they are suffering. The people who’ve lost home and loved ones, the animals who have died. And the nightmare has not yet ended. Hopefully the rains will come soon.
