The earth spins slowly on its ancient track
A marble blue against the endless black
Wrapped in a veil of whisper-thin atmosphere
Holding the weight of all we hold dear.
Mountains stand tall like silent old guards,
Carved by the ice and scarred by the years,
While rivers flow down through valleys and plains,
Chasing the sea through sunshine and rains.
From bustling cities where iron and light
Pierce through the dark of a flickering night,
To quiet deep forests where old branches sway,
The world keeps on turning from night into day.
It holds every story, every breath, every rhyme,
A fleeting, bright moment in the vast ocean of time,
Fragile yet fierce, forever spun round,
The only real home that we’ve ever found.
With all the fires all over Europe, and the conflicts getting worse day by day, I think its time we took this Planet seriously. Global warming is killing us, slow but sure.
