– This lovely armchair has a beautiful warm rich colour, solid construction and elegant lines.
– This armchair has front legs in the Scottish manner with a traditional taper to the inner and rear faces and the rear legs are swept backwards. The rear legs also are stepped above the seat on the inner faces.
– The top rail and cross splat are curved.
– The swept arms link with stepped design into the classical urns and into decorative turned bases linking to the front legs.
– The seat looks to be softwood or birch.
– The armchair has evidence of historic woodworm and repair, but this remains a solid antique Scottish armchair. Identical version shown in Cotton.
