Scottish Towns-Cities. Banchory.

Banchory on Deeside is in Aberdeenshire. It was an early Christian settlement. A tourist resort in the 19th century Banchory is now an important commuter settlement. It has local industries including food processing and building and timber industries. It acts a s a service centre for the surrounding agricultural area.

In medium towns such as this, the population is typically older. The group has higher social grade status than other groups, a higher proportion are owner occupiers and car ownership is also higher.
