I was never allowed to say Geez. Mom said it was swearing as was a short way of saying Jesus.

That’s a different meaning of “Geez” than I’m used to, which is as a mild interjection! Similarly to Mama Bubbles, I remember when I was a kid at the (horrible) summer camp I went to one year, we had like an arts and crafts instructor who ordered us not to say “Geez” because it was a contraction of “Jesus”. She told us she only wanted us to say “Hell” or “Damn”. Mind you, we were elementary schoolers, so you can guess how well THAT would have gone over with our parents …
