A look at old Edinburgh and the many buildings that have been lost over the centuries, along with a few that remain. As a World Heritage site, Edinburgh’s old buildings are afforded some protection, but sadly, over the years the city has lost many structures. And it’s not just individual buildings. Edinburgh has lost whole blocks of buildings going back to the eighteenth century. Whole streets have vanished as the march of progress destroys buildings and communities. This video looks not just at the Disneyesque face of Scotland’s capital city, but at the loss of so much of Edinburgh’s heart and soul.
